为促进人工智能领域青年人才成长，鼓励创新性研究，推动人工智能领域的科技进步，助力上海加快建设国家人工智能发展高地，上海市科协与市经信委组织开展“世界人工智能大会青年优秀论文奖”评选。4月23日发出《关于推荐“世界人工智能大会青年优秀论文奖”参评论文的通知》(沪科协〔2020〕25号)，正式启动面向全球高校、科研院所、企业开展人工智能领域青年优秀论文征集活动，得到积极响应,来稿踊跃。6月5日征稿截止，共收到海内外80家知名单位参评论文184篇，涵盖了国际知名高校和科研单位，经专家初评，遴选出20篇优秀论文进入终评。
6月28日，召开“世界人工智能大会青年优秀论文奖” 终评会议，上海市科协党组书记、副主席马兴发，上海市经信委副主任张英分别致辞，评委会顾问潘云鹤院士对“waic青年论文奖”评选给予高度肯定，评委会主任李德毅院士主持了终评会议。经过戴琼海、张旭、任福继、徐雷等院士专家组成的终评委员会投票表决，最终评选出“世界人工智能大会青年优秀论文奖”论文10篇，提名奖论文10篇。名单公示如下：
