新厝河是一条断头河，全长647米，它东起红光村，横穿福光路汇入浦东河，在治理前属重度黑臭。新厝河的治理以控源截污为基础，河道展开清淤、截污、活水的全域治理。

通过久久为功的努力，新厝河除去了“病根”，再加以引水提质，为内河注入了全新活力。罗泽鸿说，通过引光明港的水，再经由浦东河分流，每日5000立方米的补水量，让新厝河弥补上游无水源补给的短板。

“这个串珠公园总面积有3000多平方米，深受大家喜爱。”在福光路与红光路十字路口的串珠公园内，不少家长带着小朋友嬉戏游玩，几乎没人知道这个公园下方是一座调蓄池。罗泽鸿说，考虑到新厝河两岸空间有限，为了最大程度提升景观效果，决定采用“污水地下走，景观岸上住”的造景方式，让地上空间的价值得以充分利用。
