东湖低排泵站新建工程位于武汉经济技术开发区东部、东湖水系东南部，是蔡甸东湖水系重要的外排泵站。以往，汉阳地区东湖水系在汛期排涝能力严重不足，所覆盖的三角湖、南太子湖、北太子湖及后官湖周边低洼地区，容易产生内涝。
